Bidding

New service requests

Service Universe's algorithm meticulously screens all new service requests and notifies you whenever jobs matching your interests become available. These matching requests will appear in your dashboard while they are open for bidding. You may also receive email notifications for certain new jobs, especially when customers request quick bids or for jobs with tight deadlines.

Providers should review service request details prior to submitting a bid. All submitted bids are final.

Bid submission

Providers compete with each other by offering competitive prices and showcasing their skills and experience relevant to the job. This competitive environment can lead to providers offering competitive rates to win the job.

We suggest considering the following key requirements.

When you're ready, submit your bid. Make sure your bid is inclusive of the deductible platform fees (currently 15%) and all applicable taxes.

Bid acceptance

After receiving bids from providers, customers have the opportunity to review the bids, provider profiles, past reviews, and qualifications. They then select the provider they believe is the best fit for the job based on factors such as price, expertise, and reliability. Most users will review and decide on the winning bid within 2-3 days. Providers are advised to check email daily as they may be receiving bid status messages.

User may choose to contact providers via chat. Consider checking in-app or webpage messages for chat notifications.

Once a provider is selected, the job is assigned to them, and they will be notified immediately.

Job confirmation

To form a contract with the customer, providers are required to confirm the final price accepted by the customer. Once this step is finished, providers can proceed with booking a service appointment and completing the job based on the agreed-upon terms.

Direct award bidding

In some cases, customers might choose from a pool of qualified providers and assign a job directly to you without going through the bidding process. However, it's important to note that even for Direct Awards, providers are still required to submit pricing bids. This process helps ensure transparency and fairness in forming a contract between the customer and the provider, even when customers have already identified a preferred provider for the job.

Happy Bidding!
